When Wolves Guard The Sheep: Public Protectors Birthday Party More Like A Who’s Who of Shady Criminals
The controversial Busisiwe Mkhwebane, who seems to be the Public Protector in name only, recently celebrated her 50th birthday, but invited guests were people who should be considered “questionable” friends given her position.

Unlawful R420m Gupta VAT refund – Sars legal head fired with immediate effect
Revenue service Sars said on Friday it had terminated the services of its head of legal, Refiloe Mokoena, with immediate effect.
It said the decision was taken after a disciplinary hearing chaired by a senior counsel from the Johannesburg Bar.
Sars said Mokoena was found guilty of serious misconduct.
“Sars has accepted the chairperson’s recommendation of immediate dismissal and her services have been terminated with effect from today, November 15 2019,” Sars said.
BusinessLIVE reported in October that Mokoena, who was allegedly at the centre of granting the controversial Gupta family a reported R420m VAT refund, had been suspended.
It said Mokoena was asked by Sars in September to supply reasons why she should not be suspended by the tax agency over the Gupta refunds. Mokoena was one of five executives who were placed on precautionary suspension in recent months pending the conclusion of their disciplinary processes.
Nyanda and Trevor Manual Drop Bombshells – Guptas Wielded Significant Influence in the Appointment and Dismissal of Ministers
Siphiwe Nyanda, former cabinet minister told the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture today that he met with the Gupta brothers in the presence of former president Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane Zuma. They introduced themselves and their company, Sahara Computers and indicated a desire to have a private meeting with him.
Under his portfolio as communications minister, Nyanda had oversight over the SABC, Icasa, Films and Publications Board and Brand SA, among others. The Guptas are suspected to have wielded significant influence in the appointment and dismissal of ministers who could further their business interests.
Nyanda’s meeting with the Guptas fell through because he was fired by Zuma during one of the former president’s cabinet reshuffles.
Earlier in the day, former finance minister Trevor Manuel testified that the reshuffle was aimed at replacing reluctant ministers with pliable ones who would work to further the business interests

An anonymous engineer at Eskom revealed on social media the problems and forecasting of the failed state entity.
50% of coal power stations are out of order and will only be operational again in three years time.
Four of the six turbines at one power station have “broke down” due to poor grade coal (supplied by Gupta’s).
No or little maintenance has been done in the past four years.
All this said, loadshedding will be our forecast in January, and this will make the fierce economy even more damaging and more bankrupt.
