86 Year Old Johanna Rossouw Tortured & Stabbed 30 Times! Murdered for a Phone! News24.com IGNORES it!

THERE IS NO EXCUSE! This crime is inexcusable no matter your political affiliation, but not reporting on it is just as damning! News24.com, arguably one of the top news resources in South Africa, failed to even cover the horrendous murder of the 86 year old grandmother Johanna Rossouw, who was found brutally murdered in the Edenpark Retirement Village in Witbank, Mpumalanga, on Sunday 31 January 2021. The mother of 4 was found dead in her home in Fuchsia street, with multiple stab wounds in her back and neck. It is clear this defenseless frail old woman was also tortured before she was violently murdered. Her hands were tied behind her back. A rag was also placed in her mouth by her attacker and soap was thrown over her face.

Firearms amnesty: SAPS biggest distributor of illegal firearms and ammunition

Just like a pencil cannot make spelling mistakes of its own accord, a firearm cannot kill of its own accord. In addition, recent parliamentary questions that the FF Plus addressed to the Minister of Police seem to reveal that the police service is to blame for the majority of the illegal firearms and ammunition in the country.

With that in mind, the following question should be asked: What is the purpose of the proposed amnesty period for handing in firearms? According to the government, the purpose is to confiscate illegal firearms so as to combat crime in South Africa.

However, in response to a parliamentary question that the FF Plus posed the Minister a few months ago, he said that approximately 10 million rounds of ammunition were either stolen from or lost by the police service itself over the last six financial years. No high-care unit at Pelonomi Hospital is operational – patients suffer – poor condition of state hospital indication that the planned Health Insurance will be just another failed ANC project

The FF Plus demands that the Free State Department of Health urgently intervene and ensure that all high-care units in the Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein are restored to an operational condition.

Currently, there is not one operating high-care unit in this hospital.

At a recent Health Portfolio Committee meeting in the Free State Legislature, the head of the Free State Department of Health, Dr. David Motau, reveals that only the high-care unit on the third floor of Pelonomi Hospital is operational.

However, the FF Plus has determined that this unit is used as an ordinary hospital ward.

The FF Plus has addressed a written question to the Free State MEC of Health, Montseng Tsiu.

The party condemns the poor quality of healthcare to patients who cannot afford private healthcare.

Government policy causes SA academics to squander

Government policy is not aimed at drawing the most out of South Africa’s rich academic well. This became evident from the answers provided to two written questions that the FF Plus posed to the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

One question dealt with retaining academics after the compulsory age of retirement, namely 65 years. The Minister’s answer was that academics can indeed be employed for another three years, but that it seems to be the exception rather than the rule. The Minister added, furthermore, that the emphasis is rather on developing emerging academics and that retired academics should act as mentors and relief staff.

In reality, however, an academic has reached the peak of his or her career at the age of 65. Seeing as greater life expectancy and good health at high age are becoming more and more common, academics are still able to be most productive at that age.

Registered illegal aliens from other countries will have access to all medical services under the NHI, which will be financed by South Africa’s hard-working taxpayers

The government’s plan to steamroller the National Health Insurance (NHI) through Parliament and to have it promulgated as legislation will cost South Africa dearly.

Last month, the FF Plus warned in Parliament that adopting the NHI as legislation and enforcing it will cause experienced medical professionals to leave the country.

The Minister of Health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, is being obstinate in his attempts to get this law on paper so that it can be implemented, however, he is still unable to provide clarity regarding how the NHI will be financed and what the role of medical aid funds will be under the NHI.

Everything seems to indicate that the government is aiming to get rid of medical aid funds with the NHI and that will surely deliver another significant blow to South Africa’s already struggling economy.

ANC at fault for municipal chaos, collapse of infrastructure and to blame for water shortages

The single biggest reason why residents in certain municipal regions have water shortages is the chaos in municipalities across the country, particularly those under ANC governance that do not pay their water accounts.

The Minister admitted that part of the problem is the collapse of infrastructure. It is too bad that she did not also admit that it is the ANC’s fault.

It is becoming increasingly unacceptable to blame the previous dispensation. Apartheid has nothing to do with the ANC’s fraud, corruption and sheer inability to govern. Municipalities’ outstanding debt to nine different water councils currently amounts to R14 billion. The money cannot simply be written off.
