Family, friends and an ever increasing group of concerned supporters, of Ashley Oosthuizen (22), an innocent South African who was imprisoned for life in a Thai jail two years ago, are appealing to the ANC government in SA to pay urgent attention to her case. SAPS members are involved in Pretoria drug trade, says Tshwane MMC

PRETORIA – Tshwane MMC for community safety and emergency services Karen Meyer on Monday said she had received reports and footage showing that members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) are involved in drug dealing.
Meyer also lambasted the SAPS officers for allegedly preventing Tshwane Emergency Services personnel from dousing flames on buildings alleged drug peddlers were inhabiting.
Community members, mainly taxi drivers, on Monday assaulted suspects who had been arrested by police officers, before setting their premises on fire.
“Tshwane Emergency Services personnel were prevented by the crowds from accessing and treating the alleged drug peddlers, but they were also prevented from doing so by the SAPS to extinguish the fire.

Police warden becomes criminal – warden caught with 96 mandrax pills at Pollsmoor Prison

A random search at the Pollsmoor Prison has led to the arrest of a warden for drug possession. The search was conducted on Saturday, 10 August, and the officer was nabbed with 96 mandrax tablets in his possession.
The Medium B official, Bandile Mbana, took the drugs out from his bag during the search.
According to colleagues of Mbana’s, the arrest came as a shock to them.
The special search operation conducted by the Emergency Support Team (EST) of the Remand Detention Facility and the Medium B Centre saw a total of 2000 offenders, their cells and personal belongings searched.
The officers in their search of the cells confiscated 85 cellphones, 24 chargers, five knives, 16 sharpened objects, 49 small tik bags, 96 mandrax tablets (from the correctional services officer), 39 packets of dagga and 13 SIM cards.
Mbana was taken to Kirstenhof Police Station, where he was arrested and locked up.

Just in Africa! Used coffins found at residential home during drug raid – wonder what happened to the corpses?

Residents of Orange Grove, Johannesburg, were stunned when they discovered coffins hidden in a house on Sunday morning. The group of residents raided a house that they suspected was being occupied by a drug dealer at about 7am.
“We know houses that have drugs. When we arrived at the gate the people inside did not want to open,” said Nano Nobesule, one of the residents. “We forced ourselves in and we sensed a bad smell. We found a lot of coffins, some with tissues containing blood stains.”
Nobesule added: “Some of the coffins looked new while others had already been used. Some of the coffins had soil [on them].”
The coffins were taken outside by the residents and placed on the street. Police were then called to the scene.

Syndicates exploits SA as a trade route for illegal drugs – Cocaine worth R720m seized on ship in Port Elizabeth docks

Port Elizabeth – The Directorate of Priority Crime (Hawks) on Tuesday said they have seized cocaine coming from Brazil with a street value of R720 million in the Port Elizabeth docks.
The bust was made at the Port Of Ngqura, Coega Harbour and netted 706 kilograms of the drug packed into one kilogram bags.
The operation took place over a period of 12 days and the cocaine was seized on Monday.
At a media briefing on Tuesday in Struandale, National Head of the Hawks, Advocate Godfrey Lebeya said the value of the cocaine could have built an entire village.
Lebeya said the cocaine was concealed on the bottom floor of the ship under more than 3 369 containers in a 30-level ship.
“The crooks were determined to ensure that nobody would detect this. This was designed to evade detection,” he said.
